Windows Movie Maker is a movie making/editing program on Windows Systems.
The program is very much a program for making videos, you can edit videos, place them in different parts of a timeline, add transitions, etc.

Windows Movie Maker versions on Windows XP Edit
The next version of Windows Movie Maker was Bundled with Windows XP. Version 1.1 was released about a year after the version in Windows ME, which added support for DV AVI and WVM 8 files, version 2.0 was released as a free update in November 2002. And added some new features. Version 2.1 was a minor update for version 2.0, and was included with Windows XP SP2. There was a version in Windows XP Media Centre edition 2005 that included more Transitions and Support for DVD Burning.
